Originally bred by farmers on the River Clyde in Scotland, Clydesdales became associated with Anheuser-Busch on April 7, 1933 to celebrate the repeal of Prohibition. A magnificent team of Clydesdales thundered down Pestalozzi Street in St. Louis carrying the first cases of post-Prohibition beer.
