In 1921 Kandinsky went to Germany to attend the Bauhaus of Weimar, on the invitation of its founder, the architect Walter Gropius. Geometrical elements took on increasing importance in his teaching as well as in his painting, particularly circle, half-circle, the angle, straight lines and curves. This period was a period of intense production. This new freedom is characterised in each of his works by his treatment of planes rich in colors and magnificent gradations.
