Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson, both devout Christians, attended a religious revival in early 1863, on an estate called Belvoir just south of Fredericksburg. They were moved to tears by the eloquence of Rev B T Lacy as he described the homes from which the Confederate army was drawn.
