After the spectacular victory at Chancellorsville, Major General JEB Stuart and his cavalry spent a few days in Culpeper, VA. The perils of war were briefly forgotten as they were feted with a grand ball. Hopes sored high and dreams seemed near. It was a night of candlelight and roses.
